 What's Mike's story?

My story is one of constant change and of little structure. I attended almost a dozen schools from K-College, in both the US and Canada. I have lived in New Orleans, NYC, Hawaii, North Dakota, Quebec, Ft. Lauderdale, Texas, Mississippi and now SoCal (with my wife, Lynda, and Max, the 28 pound "Jumbo Westie"). I, for the most part, raised myself from the age of 15, even though I did not lose both of my parents till my 20's. I have had many work experiences including shucking oysters, repairing global radio-navigation gear and managing over a billion dollars worth of investment portfolios for high net worth individuals. They were all challenging and enlightening experiences.

I served four years of active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard as an electronics technician prior to my financial services career. I have been a portfolio manager for both institutions and high net worth indivduals for over 16 years and I hold both a Bachelors of Science Degree in Finance and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

I became aware of nanotechnology in the late 90's by way of a client who was on the board of Carbon Nanotechnologies (founded by Richard Smalley) when it was still a public company.
